Website Terms of Use

Effective September 2, 2026

These terms govern your use of this website.

They do not govern any work we do for you. If you engage DG Precise Permitting & Engineering, a separate written agreement covers that engagement, and that agreement overrides anything on this website if the two ever disagree.

1. What this website is

This site describes services. Everything on it is general information about how permitting works in Southwest Florida.

It is not legal advice, not a code determination, and not an engineering opinion about your specific project. Nothing here is an official interpretation of the Florida Building Code or of any local ordinance, and we are not a building department.

2. No guarantee of outcomes

We do not and cannot guarantee that any permit will be approved, that a review will take any particular length of time, what fees will be assessed, or what an inspector will find.

Those decisions belong entirely to the authority having jurisdiction. Any description of process or timing on this site is illustrative, not a projection and not a promise.

If you have seen a turnaround figure quoted anywhere for this region, treat it as a description of past conditions in one jurisdiction, not a commitment about yours.

3. Our role on a permit

Permits are applied for and issued under the contractor's own license. Where we act, we act as the contractor's authorized agent under the jurisdiction's own authorization form.

We do not hold ourselves out as the contractor, do not sign applications as the applicant, and do not permit our name to be used in place of a license holder's.

You remain responsible for the accuracy of the license and insurance information you give us, for having a contract for the property, and for the work itself.

4. Engineering services

Where we provide engineering services, they are provided by or under the responsible charge of a Florida-licensed professional engineer, and the firm's Certificate of Authorization is stated in the footer of this site.

Engineering services are engaged separately and in writing. Browsing this site, submitting the contact form, or discussing a job does not create an engineer-client relationship and does not make us the engineer of record for anything.

Nothing on this website is a sealed document, and nothing here may be relied on as one.

5. Public records

Filing a permit means submitting information to a government agency. Permit records in Florida are generally public, and a recorded Notice of Commencement becomes part of the public record of the property.

We cannot restrict, withdraw or make confidential anything that has been filed. This is explained in full in section 6 of the Privacy Policy, and it is worth reading before you send us a job.

6. Accuracy and change

Permitting requirements, fee schedules, forms and portals in this region change, sometimes on a specific effective date and sometimes without notice.

We keep this site as current as we reasonably can, but you should not rely on it as the current requirement for a specific job. Ask us, or ask the jurisdiction.

7. Pricing

Any price discussed on this site or in an inquiry is indicative and subject to a written agreement.

Government fees are set by the jurisdiction, are separate from our fees, and are subject to the fee schedule in effect on the date they are assessed, which is not necessarily the schedule in effect when you were quoted.

8. Your submissions

When you send us information through this site, you confirm it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are authorized to provide it, including license information and any personal information about a property owner or another third party.

Do not send confidential material you are not free to share.

9. Text messaging

The messaging program, how to opt in and how to stop, is described on the SMS Terms page. Consent is optional and is never a condition of doing business with us.

10. Intellectual property

The content and design of this site belong to DG Precise Permitting & Engineering unless stated otherwise. You may read, print and share pages for your own business use.

Plans and documents you send us remain yours. We use them to prepare and file your permit and for our own project record, and for nothing else.

12. Liability

[ATTORNEY TO DRAFT. This section must cover, at minimum: disclaimer of warranties for the website itself; limitation of liability and its shape for a professional services firm; the carve-outs Florida law requires; and how it interacts with the engineering professional-liability position. It is deliberately left unwritten rather than filled with template language: a clause that fails is worse than no clause, because it invites reliance on protection that is not there.]

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.

[VENUE: attorney to confirm the county and whether to specify state or federal court.]

14. Changes

If these terms change, the updated version is posted here with a new effective date.
